Pirker Gingerbread - Austrian Tradition since 1826

Revitalized greetings from Mariazell.  The sweet treats from the family-run business, Pirker, have been a tradition since 1826.  The high quality of the homemade, filled gingerbread is in part due to the use of revitalized GRANDER® water.

Pirken would like to give people who have a sweet tooth and noshers alike a better understanding of the traditional handicraft of gingerbread makers, candle makers and hot wine makers.  The spring programme allows you to dive into the sweet world of honey bees and displays the manual craftmanship and production of the Mariazeller gingerbread specialties.  Find out how to make schnaps and wine out of honey and become familiar with the original production of the beeswax candles and "Mariazeller Wachsstoeckl" (original wax taper).  Taste our handmade gingerbread, our distillates and our homemade hot wine.  More than 300 different specialties are made in our house as they were hundreds of years ago according to recipes handed down over generations.

You will be surprised at how versatile the handicraft of gingerbread really is!
